Electronics Development Engineer

Description

The successful candidate will work within the New Product Development department working on hardware design for a range of new medical devices.

Overall responsibilities will include producing requirements specifications, input to risk analysis, FMEA, and acceptance testing of hardware. The role may also include the proposal and introduction of new design processes and tools.

Qualified to HNC or Degree level in Electronics Design. This will be a degree in electronics with an embedded software element (Other degrees may also be acceptable if the experience is suitable e.g. Physics)
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years relevant experience working as an electronics engineer and must have experience in analogue design in low frequency up to audio levels, ADC and DACs, experience of 16/32 bit micro-controller design, PCB schematics capture and PCB layout, and embedded software implementation using C (C++)

Ideally experience should include working for a medical device manufacturer, and have a good understanding of development for safety critical applications.
Should have knowledge of using a structured design methodology, and have experience of working to applicable standards, CE marking and FDA regulations, for example EN/ISO13485, EN/ISO60601, EN/ISO62304, MDD 93/42/EEC and 2007/47/EC.
