Bull’s-eye for Penlon Vaporizer Team Leader

Congratulations to Mick Tappin, vaporizer cell team leader at Penlon, who competes as a longbow archer at tournaments throughout the south of England.

Mick gained a first and second place in the two National Rounds of the UK Grand Western Archery Association Dunster week in June, the largest traditional longbow event in the world!

Mick is having a good year, having also just claimed the Berkshire Archery Outdoor Championship for longbow archers to add to his indoor title gained last November.

The English longbow is one of the most famous traditional archery bows in the world, and competitive tournaments go back as far as the Middle Ages when the best archers were chosen for military duty!
